November 6th: HELLO WINTER!
It's apparent that we don't call our "Winter" Vegetable Subscription for nothing. We hope you all had a great weekend playing in the first major snowfall of the winter season. 2017 has been a pretty crazy year weather wise, so the recent snow fall is no surprise to us at the farm.
This week the farm crew will continue to winterize the farm by completing as many clean-up projects as the snow will allow. We will further insulate our greenhouses to protect our precious greens from the wicked cold temperatures. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will spend 3 days each week washing carrots. All together this year, we harvested 100,000 pounds of carrots! In between clean-up projects and washing carrots, we will be seeding micro greens, maintaining crops growing in the greenhouses, and organizing ourselves as we head into winter-life at the farm.
